In our Data & Technology department we are responsible for the complete life cycle of our software products. We develop applications for our internal customers in the fields of market research and big data.
As Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f) you assure the quality of complex web-based Business Intelligence Dashboards. The QA engineer is responsible for creating and improving the test approach, architecture and coverage. Furthermore, you will support the development team with setting up and improving processes and workflows. As QA Engineer you will coordinate feedbacks about quality with product owners. In addition, you will use automated testing to improve the overall quality of GfK’s client-facing web applications.
Operationally you work with the scrum team to make sure a story is testable. You contribute to systematic and organized QA in the agile team while planning, tracking and reporting QA activities and QA stats. Furthermore, you create, execute and improve test cases and automated tests in the area of data-driven web applications. You will also provide guidance and support to the developers to ensure joint test automation. In addition, you set up and improve the regression testing suite and set up development and/or test environments.
You are a dedicated and communicative person with high analytical skills, who likes to be integrated in an international team. You are characterized by your high level of professional knowledge, your structured and careful way of working and through demeanor.
• General experience in the area of software development, very good mastery of at least one language for scripting
• Good knowledge of modern web application architecture, we would welcome some understanding of frontend frameworks (e.g., AngularJS)
• Practical experience with test automation frameworks like Selenium or Protractor
• Experience with key-word driven or behavior-driven (Cucumber) test automation would be beneficial
• Good experience in using various tools like bug trackers (JIRA), versions control systems (Git, SVN)
• Affinity for innovative IT technologies and architectures
• High level of numeracy and accuracy. Ability to develop and execute data consistency checks.
• Good knowledge of the German and English languages (of course we welcome any additional languages)
• Ideally practical experience with agile development methods (esp. Scrum) as well as the ability to work in a team
• 3/5 years experience as quality assurance engineer in enterprise environments with thorough working experience in test automation of web-based UI applications
• 1+ years experience with CI (Jenkins/Bamboo)
• ISTQB certification (e.g., Certified Tester Foundation Level)
