Role Summary/Purpose

Joining a New Technology Introduction project team, you will develop and evaluate new features required to use CFD tools to predict wind-farm flow blockage. You will also leverage GE’S wind turbine fleet operational data (SCADA) and other field datasets to validate the CFD results.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Develop and validate a CFD based methods to drive improved modeling for wind farm performance & loads predictions 

·  Develop the process by which this will be used by the GE micro sitting teams to optimize future wind farm projects 
·  Gain knowledge on wind-turbine and wind farm operation and control
Qualifications/Requirements

·  MSc. Student in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace or Wind) or Fluid/Thermal Sciences from an accredited University with specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics or equivalent knowledge or experience
·  EU Work Permit

If contracted in Spain:

Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

·  Excellent communication skills paired with the desire for continuous learning and tackling of challenging problems 
·  Strong fundamental knowledge in fluid mechanics and good knowledge of wind turbines and wind farm aerodynamics 
·  Solid problem analysis and resolution skills; with a can-do open & creative attitude
