Role Summary/Purpose

To support the Factory for Welding Engineering and Planning.
Essential Responsibilities

1. Shall be committed to Company’s Safety and other Statutory Policies.

2. Develop understanding of company’s boiler design standards, ASME Sec IX, SEC I, Consumables cost estimation and assist welding planning engineers - In developing Welding Process Planning, developing new Welding Procedures and estimating Welding Consumables cost.

3. Shall coordinate between cross-functions for development and Qualification of new WPS/PQR’s.

4. Conduct required Tests and prepare Test Reports for approval of new Consumable Brands.

5. Assist planning engineers in preparation and release of Shop Welding Plans, Heat Treatment Instructions to Manufacturing, as per Project Schedule.

6. Develop hands-on experience and qualification in SMAW and SAW processes
Qualifications/Requirements

Graduate / PG Welding Engineer Trainee with with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgy or a Master’s Degree in Welding Engineering / Welding Technology with strong theoretical knowledge of Welding Processes, Weld defects-causes & remedies, metallurgy and heat treatment principles.

Result oriented; team and customer orientation; time management; flexible; detail oriented, Effective written and verbal communication skills., Good PC-based application skills such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Well versed with reading and understanding mechanical drawings , Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
