Role Summary/Purpose

The Vandalia Manufacturing Associate C will perform all responsibilities for all applications.
Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will :
Provide assistance or direction to all Plant Associates, Management and other Stockroom Associates
Work in a team-based environment, have Strong Customer service skills
Able to change task when asked
Water spider task-Working as a team in moving parts on the shop floor to the correct designated areas.
Maintain a positive attitude, able to accept and give constructive criticism
Comply with and support all GE policies and the “Integrity: The Spirit and The Letter of Our Commitment” guide
Lift up to 25 pounds repetitively, occasionally lift to 35 pounds non-repetitively, and sometimes lift over 35 pounds with assistance
Continuous Bending and twisting
Conform to all EHS guidelines including, but not limited to, wearing proper PPE, Follow all Safety procedures
Cycle count- Daily inventory counts on random parts.
Verify inventory counts by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
Maintain strong attention to detail and knowledge of production processes:
Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.
Complete all Computer functions, paperwork, and place pick in the proper locations
Deliver to correct Locations in a timely manner
Communicate what chemicals need to be ordered.
Pull all expired chemicals, scrap them in the system, and take to the location to be disposed of.
When issuing out Chemicals- PULL THE EARLIEST EXPIRATION DATE FIRST. Issue the correct lot #
Understanding the put a way line and processing functions in the computer.
Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer
Mark stock items using tags, or other labeling equipment
Pack and unpack items to fit on shelves in stockroom, consolidate parts to minimize space
Label all boxes with part number, project code, Lot # and Expiration date if needed
Be proficient in kitting
Know the procedures of what parts are needed in each kit
Making sure the kits are complete before delivering.
Know where each kit is staged, and delivered to the correct locations.
Complete the issuing process in computer functions, sending emails to all PC’s, Etc.
Super Market Bins:
Check all areas throughout the week
Pull all empty bins and fill as needed, Qty’s are on each bin.
Keep all work areas clean, organized and safe.
Keep all Static work areas clear of clutter.
Weekly Scrap Removal
Maintain an excellent record of attendance and punctuality
Make decisions based on experience and available data
Accept and give constructive criticism
Maintain a positive attitude
Demonstrate an ambition to excel and advance in skills and knowledge

Store items in an orderly, safe and accessible manner in warehouses, stockroom or other areas within the plant
Mark stock items using tags, or other labeling equipment
Work in an area where there may be moderate noise intensity (85 to 89.9 dBa) and areas where hearing protection is required
Work in an area where, due to normal machining operations, there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels)
Successful candidate may be required to take classes in team building, environmental health and safety, and / or other on-the-job training to learn specific assignments
Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma / GED

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Ability and willingness to lift up to 25 pounds repetitively, occasionally lift up to 35 pounds non-repetitively, and sometimes lift over 35 pounds with assistance
Ability and willingness to read and understand applicable information such as written instructions, procedures and specifications that apply to daily work operations
Ability and willingness to use hand tools (pliers, wrenches, hammers, etc.)
Ability and willingness to conform to all EHS guidelines including, but not limited to, wearing proper PPE
Ability and willingness to work in an area where there may be moderate noise intensity (85 to 89.9 dBa) and areas where hearing protection is required
Ability and willingness to work in an area where, due to normal machining operations, there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels)
Desired Characteristics

Minimum 1 year of experience in electronic assembly
Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or mechanical work experience
Minimum 1 year of prior assembly experience
Prior experience in soldering or brazing
Ability and willingness to perform light machining including but not limited to drill press, flush and back flush, lead cutting, stripping and forming
Ability and willingness to perform mechanical measurements using scales, calipers, and gauges
Ability and willingness to use pneumatic tools
Ability and willingness to receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer
Strong Customer Service skills
Strong Computer skills
Ability and willingness to change task when asked
