Role Summary/Purpose

As a member of our North American Risk team, you will support the Aviation & Transportation portfolio team by underwriting debtor limits and manage operational processes associated trade credit receivables for GE Aviation and Transportation clients.

Essential Responsibilities

• Underwrite debtors to establish trade credit lines for up to $1 million independently
• Prepare historical or pro forma financial models to determine operating performance, assess risk and perform valuation analysis in order to make supportable credit recommendations
• Review and maintain underwriting rationale for credit limits in systems and portfolio quality reports
• Manage debtor validation and grouping process; contact clients as necessary
• Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on debtors flagged by AML / Bridger checks
• Manage trade credit insurance process, which includes: applications, amendments, cancellations, reconciliations, adjustments, and documentation

• Assist in managing new client integrations (due diligence, scheduling, etc.) and managing early read opportunities received from clients
• Support Sr. Underwriters in preparing files for underwriting and execute operational processes to ensure timely funding
• Co-ordinate syndication activities, execute asset sales and manage reporting with Capital Markets
• Manage client reporting and handle inquiries on non-funded drivers
• Support coding of debtors / invoices in systems as required
• Participate in portfolio reviews and provide inputs as required
• Participate in various cross-functional initiatives to support compliance and process enhancements; this includes but is not limited to operational risk, regulatory compliance, audits, systems enhancements, client engagement rules, process optimization studies, etc.
• Assist Sr. Underwriters in preparing credit write-ups when required

Desired profile

Qualifications/Requirements

• Undergraduate University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting
• 3+ years' experience in underwriting or portfolio management
• Experience in financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation
• Experience preparing financial information, interpreting financial performance, and assessing risk
• Experience preparing and delivering presentations to management and peers
• Strong analytical & data management, problem solving and process oriented skills
• Superior Excel, Power Point, and database querying skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly
• Well organized; ability to manage several deliverables and meet strict deadlines
• Team player but able to work independently and manage priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible working schedule to accommodate global clients in various time zones, including weekend work as required

Desired Characteristics

• Detailed knowledge of or work experience in the Aviation, Transportation, Energy, Oil & Gas or Healthcare sectors preferred.
• MBA in Finance or Accounting
• Experience with Moody's RiskCalc or similar products
• Factoring industry or credit insurance experience
• Exposure to leasing / lending businesses and financial products preferr
