We are looking for an Engineer (m/f/d) in the field of Networks & Communications, such as Optical transmission systems and Wide area networks, mostly based on CISCO solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Conducts component and product integration within Large & Complex HVDC/AC substation turnkey (EPC) projects through the coordination of internal and external suppliers as well as delivering the Design in-house.
·  Delivers knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others for the comprehensive Design reviews and Interface alignment.
·  Uses some judgment and has some ability to assess different solutions, challenge the supplier's offers and customer requirements, bringing the consensus via formalized queries to the involved parties.

 

Required Qualifications

·  This role requires experience in the Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
·  Cisco Platforms : experience with Cisco ASR 903 / IE9X series; ability to manage system resources, understand the implementation aspects, configuration, including the automated tools available.
·  MPLS & Core Routing: Advanced configuration of MPLS L3VPNs, LDP (Label Distribution Protocol), and RSVP-TE for traffic engineering.
·  DWDM/Optical : Practical understanding of optical transport, including wavelength allocation, transponder configuration, and fiber optic passive components, such as cables, splice- and patch- components.
·  Layer 2/3 Segmentation : Expert-level configuration of VLANs, sub-interfaces, and complex VRF structures for multi-tenant environments.
·  Redundancy Protocols: solid knowledge in configuring and testing High Availability (HA) features like BFD (Bidirectional Forwarding Detection), HSRP/VRRP, and MPLS Fast Reroute (FRR) to ensure sub-second convergence.
·  Routing Protocols: Deep-dive proficiency in BGP (MP-BGP, route maps, prefix-lists, community strings) and IGPs (OSPF or IS-IS) in a multi-area service provider environment.

 

Desired Characteristics

·  Using automation for everyday tasks in a workplace: Python/scripts/AI-driven tools.
·  Experience with monitoring tools and packet capture (like Wireshark), troubleshooting practical experience.
·  Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCDE/CCIE) could be a plus.
