Role Summary/Purpose

Within the GE Renewable Energy Business, the Hydro market is expected to grow in the comings years. Hydro has today a global industrial footprint in Europe, China, India, North-America and Latin America. The addition of Hydro will complement the existing GE energy portfolio, helping to build a leading GE Renewable Energy.
Essential Responsibilities

· The technical tender engineer electric is responsible for the basic electrical design of hydro generators at tender stage and supports clients in identifying the best technical solution from the GE portfolio of generators

· During tender preparation, the technical tender engineer analyses the client specification and performs the basic electrical design of the generator using dedicated GE in-house tools to meet the client requests

· The engineer is also responsible to hand over the basic design as performed at tender stage to the project execution team

· Site visits of power plants to be rehabilitated and tender clarification meetings with the clients are also part of the scope

· The technical tender engineer electric is member of an international, multi-location team responsible for the technical elements of GE’s tenders for the rehabilitation of hydro power plants in the European market

· Review of tender specifications related to electrical equipment, mostly hydro generators

· Identify the deviations, the risks and the opportunities

· Perform the basic electrical design of the generator using in-house tools, compliant to the specification strongly considering cost aspects and optimization of key parameters

· Prepare technical offer documentation, including guarantees and technical deviations

· Collaborate with other contributors to the tender, such as turbine team, technical experts or costing

· Give technical support in clarification meetings with the client

· Handover to and support of the project execution teams

· Ensure on-time delivery of all required tender elements while keeping the tender budget

· Perform specific electrical calculation during execution phase


· University degree in electrical engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience

· Experience with the design of rotating electrical machines

· Fluent in English and German
