Job Description Summary
Team Lead Operations, while performing duties in assigned shift, shall be fully responsible for safe and efficient operation of plant within the technical limits as outlined in PPA, GSA and in operating procedures following the best practices of the power industry. To ensure proper logging and recording of all events and parameters. Preparing shift and other reports as assigned by Operations Manager. To ensure EHS compliance during his shift. Strictly adheres to all safety rules; lockout/tag out, work permit guidelines, confined space entry and similar policies put in place to protect the employee’s health and safety.They need to regularly updates themselves and encourage their subordinate staff adopting the industry best practices by conduction formal/informal sessions.
Job Description
What you’ll do
**The work location of the role is Sahiwal Power Plant and requires to work in shift rotations.
- To operate the plant safely and efficiently during his shift.
- To participate in the plant daily morning meeting giving input regarding plant operational needs.
- To issue and cancel work permits in the capacity of Senior Authorized Person.
- To be responsible to carry out the required isolation/de-Isolation in the process.
- To keep the Operations Manager or his designee informed of any unusual incident.
- To generate report such as Daily Operation reports (DOR), Shift Report, & Operational event Reports
- To make periodic rounds of power plant observing conditions, note abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.
- To coordinate with WAPDA and SNGPL for load management and gas supply requirements respectively in accordance with operating procedures and as required under O&M contract
- To maintain a record of all such correspondence with Gas Seller and Power Purchaser as required under O & M agreement, PPA and GSA.
- To check and verify daily log sheets to determine proper operation of the device.
- To handle plant emergencies by effective coordination, teamwork, timely and prudent decisions.
- To acquire adequate knowledge of EHS/Quality/AMS policies & procedures and ensure compliance.
- To impart training and supervise the work of subordinate staff.
- To carry out periodic safety drill and shall lead emergency response team whenever an emergency emerges.
- To be responsible for housekeeping of his assigned plant area and participate in Zonal monthly housekeeping inspections and other inspections to identify situations, conditions, aspects that may pose risk to employee, equipment or/& environment.
- To carry out and complete all EHS related Tasks and trainings within the assigned target date, these tasks can be assigned via Compliance Calendar, Action Tracking system, & Concern reports
- Generate Service Requests in MAXIMO to address Plant issues/problem and get them resolved in coordination with Maintenance Team
- Complete the process of SAP and AP Authorization and follow the responsibilities assigned in SWP & authorities defined in Authorization certificate.
- Participation in at least 03 EHS activities in a year. These activities could be Hazard Hunt, Risk reduction Project, EHS committee member housekeeping walk down etc.
- Conduct/review EHS Risk assessments of routine and non-routine work activities and implement controls as needed/assigned.
- Ensure his visitors / contractors induction process is followed as per site induction procedure.
- Participate in the planning meetings and sessions with maintenance teams to make sure the maintenance activities are planned keeping in view the availability Owner’s Plan and Power Purchaser Requirements.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with PEC recognized degree.
- Proven working experience in similar capacity in combined cycle power plant operations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work in shift rotations.
What will make you stand out
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Control Engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, P&ID’s and procedure manuals.
- Experience in combined cycle power plant with similar capacity.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to lead shift team effectively.
