Role Summary/Purpose

Switchboard Requisition / Application Engineer will be responsible for the preparation / submittal of drawing packages based on customer specifications for switchboard equipment & related products. You will provide direction / assistance to work group to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, & resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Switchboard Requisition / Application Engineering, you will:

·  Interpret customer and field sales specifications and translate into documents and instructions for manufacture of Switchboard Engineering; which meet customer requirements, quality, safety, and cost objectives
·  Prepare and submit a drawing package based upon the customer specification to obtain customer approval
·  Release and support this design (drawing package and Bills Of Material (BOM)) based upon the customer returned documents for manufacturing this equipment
·  Maintain planned output level as defined by schedule to meet material ordering and final engineering dates to ensure customer satisfaction, as measured by promises kept on engineering output and print for approval drawings
·  Maintain high quality levels of engineering output as measured by defects per section, change notices, factory floor problems, field and customer complaints, scrap, surplus and cost of rework
·  Develop a participative approach in dealing with co-workers in all functions through self-directed motivation and high involvement
·  Support factory floor in resolution of issues or questions related to “green sheets”, engineering change notices, and electrical / mechanical applications documented by engineering team
·  Interface with customers, district sales and field installation services personnel. Promote open communication and maintain effective working relationships with customers / field sales and shop operations associates
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)
·  Minimum of 1 year of Auto Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience

·  Minimum of 1 year quality assurance experience
