Role Summary/Purpose

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. Select suppliers through qualification processes. Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
Essential Responsibilities

The Supplier Quality Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In the role of Supplier Quality Engineer, you will use your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

In addition, as the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will:

·  Responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, improving quality performance via Quality Plan implementation

·  Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes

·  Accelerate improvements in supplier quality and deliver value

·  Develop positive relationships and work closely with Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement supplier / engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers

·  Interface with Suppliers and Supply chain to drive Quality improvements

·  Deliver results as measured by key metrics, such as supplier yield, field cost, field defect rate, supplier quality plan engagement / effectiveness, and corrective & preventative action closure

·  Drive improvements utilizing Supplier Scorecards and own Supplier audit, ensuring supplier compliance, and driving improvement plans

·  Understand and drive Six Sigma quality internally and with suppliers

·  Provide Quality Engineering expertise requiring advanced / specialized skills and a broad range of quality engineering expertise

·  Specify, develop, and accept advanced technology, quality information and test equipment

·  Provide advanced Quality Engineering of new product introduction involving new processes or advanced automated equipment

·  Provide technical expertise to customers / licensees in solving technical problems associated with test facilities

·  Provide correlation with GE facilities

·  Act as consultant to the Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes, introduce new products and improve product design

·  Specify and develop product acceptance / test procedures that relate to a complex process (state-of-the-art) or highly complex product

·  Provide leadership role during investigations of major problems and of special projects
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing

·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sourcing or Quality Improvement role

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
