Role Summary/Purpose

This position is for a Staff Software Engineer in the Healthcare Digital Team in GE Healthcare, Bangalore. The staff software engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of one or more application modules, subsystems in Database. In addition, this person will drive activities to improve software quality and development methodologies.
Essential Responsibilities

Proven track record of successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation. Leads impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design considerations and implementation strategy. Expert in providing oversight, mentoring team. Collaborate with product manager and architect to understand requirements and detail the user stories. Identify, plan and mitigate technology risks in a timely manner.
·  Part of the agile scrum team, participate in the software development. Reviewer for design and code. With a platform mindset, ensure the design and implementation results in a reusable manner. Attention to details, ensure the non-functional requirements are considered as part of design, implementation and test.Champion code quality initiatives, drive it with rigor in the team.
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in software development. Hands on experience in software development in MS SQL Server by implementing Triggers, Stored Procedures, SQL Performance Tuning. Working with customer deployments in resolving SQL issues. Creating/redesigning schema for better performance. Planning for load testing and defining design for future growth. Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development framework. Strong Debugging and Troubleshooting Expertise.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity. Experience with multiple SQL Server versions. Drives up quality, performance and reliability(live deployments/migrations/monitoring/alerting). Ability to learn new deployments and providing design alternatives. Understanding and implementation of security and data protection. Ability to provide HA/DR configurations with SQL Always
