Role Summary/Purpose

Be at the forefront of where big data, the industrial internet and analytics meet. This position will lead system design with broad scope and impact to the Power Services Fleet Management engineering team. This role contributes to the overall business and functional strategy and leads technical design within the software and infrastructure domains. Provides tactical execution and ownership for technical deliverables on new project implementations. Supports DevOps processes and teams.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Provide technology leadership to Fleet Management digital initiatives; Partner with cross-functional and product line teams to enable lifecycle IT enhancements.

·  Ensure optimal infrastructure, data integration and software technical design across Fleet Management and Predix landscape.

·  Lead the transition of legacy infrastructure, systems, and data to the APM/Predix platform.

·  Partner with shared service groups to design and implement technical solutions.

·  Direct fleet management and shared service groups during the infrastructure design process. Ensure that an optimal design is implemented that will reduce support issues and provide optimal performance.

·  Identify critical path technical decisions; make recommendations and influence program leaders and business process owners to maximize project payback and realization of program benefits.

·  Ensure conformance of established architecture, standards and practices.

·  Support the analysis, requirement development, design, documentation and implementation of infrastructure solutions for the Fleet Management team.

·  Partner in the evaluation/implementation of third party software solutions; Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies; Responsible for thought leadership, continuous improvement and innovation in the specified business domain.

·  Participate in the preparation of long-range systems plans and assure that they are in concert with business objectives and goals.

·  Act as liaison to shared service IT teams to achieve desired outcomes.

·  Provide hands-on expertise during implementation and problem resolution as necessary.

·  Be available outside business hours to support the business through outages.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering w/IT.

·  Minimum of 6 years of combined experience between system architecture, design or IT operations.

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

Technical Expertise:

·  Knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, Firewalls), server (Windows, Active Directory, Failover Clustering, Unix/Linux) and storage (SAN, NAS, Veritas, NTFS, EXT3, ZFS, S3) operations in a physical and cloud environment.

·  Knowledge of Data Warehousing Concepts and Technologies.

·  Knowledge of Data Architecture & Data Science Techniques.

·  Knowledge of Statistics or Advanced Mathematics, Thermodynamics.

·  Knowledge and experience in designing system level and application architectures.

·  Experience with continuous integration and deployment methodologies.

·  Experience in a variety of the following: JAVA/J2EE/HTML5/C/C++/Microsoft.Net/XML/XSLT/SQL & TSQL/JavaScript/Python/R/Matlab.

·  Experience with big data applications: Hadoop, Hawq, Cassandra, Historian HD.

·  Experience with ETL tools: Informatica, Talend, WebMethods, HVR.

·  Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AWS Services (Kinesis, EMR, Spark, RDS, IOT, S3, Aurora).

·  Experience with web services, SOA architecture.

·  Knowledge of Power Plant Operations, HMI & SCADA Systems and Historians.

·  Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Spotfire).

·  Past hands-on experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle RDBMS.

·  Willingness to adopt new technologies as necessary.

·  Experience with an Agile Development methodology.

·  Green Belt certification (GE Employees only).
