Role Summary/Purpose

What is this job about?
We are looking for engineers who are passionate about data and want to apply machine learning / data mining techniques to generate analytical solutions that increase engine reliability, improve problem detection techniques, support customer operations, optimize shop operations, etc. You will work on all aspects of the design, development and delivery of the analytical solutions including problem definition, data acquisition, data exploration and visualization.
Essential Responsibilities

You will be part of a data science or cross-disciplinary team on commercially-facing development projects, typically involving large, complex data sets. These teams typically include statisticians, computer scientists, software developers, engineers, product managers, and end users, working in concert with partners in GE business units.

Specifically, you will:
• Provide technical engineering support to improve or resolve design, performance, manufacturing, supplier or field issues using data science techniques
• Develop, verify, and validate analytics to address customer needs and opportunities
• Collaborate with technical experts, customers and the commercial team to drive and grow business opportunities
• Work as a coach / mentor to develop other engineers in the team

Additionally:

• Degree must be in any STEM field but preferably in computer science, applied mathematics, mechanical or physics
• Advanced programming skills in: Python, SQL
• Understanding of Data Mining and Machine Learning techniques
• Experience in prototyping analytics solutions for complex problems
• Ability to quickly learn new programming languages and technologies
• Enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish

• If GEIQ employee, must be an Engineer 2 or 3 (LPB)
• Able to legally work in Mexico. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas
