Role Summary/Purpose
The Intellectual Property (“IP”) Paralegal will support a group of IP attorneys and patent agents in the general practice of IP law, including assisting with generating and maintaining patents and other forms of IP.
Essential Responsibilities
The IP Paralegal will:
• Handle all IP administrative aspects for US patent filings, prosecution, maintenance and inventor remuneration;
• Manage docketing for US and foreign patents and applications; and
• Maintain and generate database reports for attorneys as requested.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all tiers of personnel;
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and prioritization skills;
• Paralegal experience;
• Experience with database entry and reporting;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• Flexibility to adjust to changing demands and requirements of a dynamic business;
• Stress resistant and able to cope with tight deadlines; and
• Motivated with a positive attitude.
Desired Characteristics
• Knowledge of procedural requirements for US and PCT patent applications;
• Experience with Anaqua database;
• IP Docketing experience;
• 2-3 years IP paralegal; and
• Paralegal certificate or degree
