Role Summary/Purpose

As Android Developer, you will build cutting-edge Android Apps in IIoT (Industrial IoT) domain for leading enterprises. You will build and evolve the framework which will be used by Oil&Gas customers to build the Android Apps for using data and analytics from Predix, GE's industry-leading IIoT platform.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Build the cutting-edge Android Apps for GE's IIoT platform
·  Build a framework for customers to build applications using GE's IIoT platform
·  Build both native and hybrid android applications
·  Conceptualise and design Mobile applications
·  Participate in software design (architecture)
·  Should have expert knowledge about how to architect a software system including but not limited, to Android-based projects
·  Testing the application on the Android Simulator and on the actual Android Phone and Android Tablets.
·  Upload the application to the Google Play store.
·  Troubleshoot and debug software to determine causes of errors and deciding what to do about them.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
·  2-4 years of strong technical experience.
Desired Characteristics

·  Should have expert knowledge with the Android SDK and with the Android Tools framework.
·  Complete understanding and experience in Android UI development.
·  Experience using Web Services and Data parsing using JSON , XML etc.
·  Strong OO design skills, database design and network programming fundamentals.
·  Strong in Android Java. Great understanding of thread management, memory management and other aspects of Java for mobile application development.
·  Very good knowledge of Android Studio &/or Eclipse in general and of Android Development using Eclipse in-particular.
·  Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
·  Working knowledge of HTML, Javascripts & CSS
·  Excellent ability to communicate with multiple stake holders on both technical and non-technical topics.
·  Experience with version control systems such as Git or Subversion
