Job Description Summary
The Senior Balance of Plant (BOP) Systems Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering team & interfaces with multiple engineering disciplines, business managers, project managers & customers. The candidate will produce an economically superior design by employing a balance of cutting edge and proven technologies and will be responsible for development and implementation of licensing and technical requirements along with the associated work processes for advanced work in new nuclear plants.

Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrates expertise in Plant and System Level design, safety assessment framework, safety analyses, Defense-in-Depth, System Dependencies, design process and change management. The role requires experience with development and implementation of a requirements management program to integrate the Balance of Plant technical design and interdisciplinary interfaces. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within design, analyses, construction and modularization of Balance of Plant Structures.
In addition you will:
· Lead and conduct design analyses, evaluations and verifications for various BWR Balance of Plant systems
· Apply engineering knowledge and practical experience to the analysis, investigation and solution of complex design problems and application issues
· Develop drawings and specifications to assure products can reliably meet all engineering and quality requirements
· Professionally respond to customer information requests, emergent plant issues and audits
· Establish global Configuration Management (CM) capabilities for Collaborative Lifecycle Management for NPP Requirements Management (RM) and change control application.
· Develop requirement hierarchy strategy and structure for the implementation of RM/RMT to capture the flow down of technical requirements from the Basis of Design (BoD), Safety Case Development, and EPC Functional Specification to the Technical Specifications and other design deliverables.
· Provide strategy for prioritization of BoD scope of traceability, using graded and stepwise approach solutions.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
· Minimum 10 years of experience with Turbine Island, BOP, or Nuclear Island plant systems in an engineering capacity
· Professional Engineering Designation in Ontario (P.eng)
Desired Qualifications:
· In-depth knowledge of BWR reactor major systems and their operation
· Commercial nuclear power plant systems experience, Professional Engineering license or advanced
· Proven oral/written communication and teamwork skills
· Demonstrated ability to perform while challenged by multiple demands and changing priorities
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills including customer interface experience
· Demonstrated leadership skills including at least 2 years of experience as a lead or lead contributor on major projects
· Knowledge of nuclear plant systems and analyses techniques, commercial plant outages and Nuclear industry practices
