Role Summary/Purpose
The Release Manager will manage and deliver SAP related projects, enhancements, and/or fix releases. The role will be part of the SAP Delivery Operations team contributing to the overall SAP solution working closely with the SAP Dev Ops PMO, Solution Architect, and Technical resources.
The Release Manager will also have operational responsibility for SAP Change, Release and Test Management processes.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership:
· Collaborate with SAP DevOps PMO, Solution
Architects, and Technical teams ensuring solutions are delivered to plan solutions
using SAP and related technologies to meet evolving regulatory environment
& business development initiatives.
· Manage extended horizontal teams (GE/vendor)
to assure excellentdeliverable quality and high performance of the team based
on the release scope.
· Coordinate and orchestrate solution delivery
activities across entire SAP DevOps team and other business / technical teams
engaged in the release
SAP solution delivery
processes and Change/Release/Test management:
· Scoping of SAP releases and scheduling key
milestones in alignment with key IT and Business stakeholders.
· Assure risk-based testing rigor, defect
management and related quality management processes are in place and properly
documented.
· Ongoing management of system releases,
associated resources and risk mitigation.
· Coordinate/Collaborate with SAP DevOps PMO
or Project Manager on project related activities e.g. cutover activities
ensuring necessary roll-backs/contingencies.
· Ensure required technical standards, change
controls and quality procedures are followed, records kept and documentation
maintained for system validation requirements.
SAP environments management & integration management:
· In close cooperation with respective
functional/technical teams and in line with change controls processes manage
configuration/development objects across SAP environments.
· Assure change controls are in place and
followed for transporting development objects between designated environments
including production cutover.
· Support other managerial release and
technical activities necessary to keep vitality and security of SAP ERP suite
inside GEHC organization.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Strong
Release Management experience. At least 3 years in planning and managing full
system development life cycle: analysis, designing, coding, testing, performance
tuning and documentation, as well as in cutover management (planning and
coordinating execution of cutover activities).
· Project
Management experience (Waterfall methodology exposure).
· At least 3 years of
participating in or cooperating with medium-sized and large projects.
· Good
understanding of Change Management and Test Management processes.
· Good
understanding of validated and/or qualified systems.
· Great
attention to details.
· A
relevant degree from University/College.
· Strong
communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to use various
communications channels.
· Excellent
spoken and written English skills.
· Ability
to work with Global Teams
Desired Characteristics
· Experience with SAP ECC 6, SAP APO and SAP Solution Manager
· Experience in SAP integration with logistical processes, multiple legacy system landscapes and external systems (Invoice Scanning, AR factoring, external Business Warehouse solutions etc.) using advanced interface technologies and automated testing tools.
· Experience with ChaRM, HP ALM and ServiceNow.
· Experience with driving or participating in creation of SAP platform strategy.
· Exposure to new technologies such as mobility integration.
· Lean processes re-design skills.
· Exposure to validated or qualified systems (ideally Healthcare or Pharmaceutical industry, including knowledge of GxP).
· Experience in a SOX IT controls certified environment.
· Knowledge of or experience with middleware solutions, e.g. WebMethods.
· Agile project method exposure.
· Working knowledge of ITIL.
· General computer literacy skills.
