Job Description Summary
Perform quality troubleshooting functions in production environment associated with assembly and routine testing of high voltage switchgear that include including a variety of electrical, mechanical, electromechanical nonconformities. Identify root cause and provide corrective/ preventative action for continuous quality improvement including performing final quality inspections.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
· Perform and lead multi-departmental groups in in routine test failure investigations to identify root cause, risk for affected population and provide preventative actions for production implementation and affected field population (if necessary).
· Analyze test results on defective units, reports on nonconforming products and recommends corrective actions
· Initiate, lead and identify independently or in multi-departmental groups preventative action measures to avoid future similar occurrences and performs follow-up to ensure effectiveness of preventative actions.
· Communicate non-conformances as required identified during inspection or routine quality audits to responsible department or group to initiate immediate corrective action.
· Communicate and reports non-conformances and routine test failures to management staff and customers
· Identify and advise production personnel of new process requirements, product improvements, creates internal product advisories and revises internal operating procedures
· Perform final quality inspections in mechanical assembly (before release to routine test) and shipping and ensure proper execution of all customer requirements outlined in customer contract drawings, quality processes and operating procedures as needed.
· Collect, analyze daily production metrics for monthly quality reporting, trending, and effectiveness of process improvements and preventative actions
· Perform training as needed to communicate and document quality process and procedural changes.
· Support production during repair procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
· High School Diploma / GED
· Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing role
Desired Characteristics:
· Previous Experience with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Previous experience with dead tank circuit breakers is preferred
· MS Office skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Great organizational, written, and oral communication skills
· Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and to meet deadlines
· Hands-on, team-oriented philosophy with commitment to business improvement processes
· Data-driven oriented
