Role Summary/Purpose

Quality Controller position reporting into the Quality organisation – responsible for the inspection of aircraft parts (predominantly metallic details).
Essential Responsibilities

Inspection of Aerospace parts against design data (2D drawings, 3D model), condition of supply, inspection plans:

·  Machine details

·  Sheet details

·  Composite and metallic assemblies

·  CMM experience:

·  Operation of CMM machines (Valisys and pcDMIS software)

·  Programming using pcDMIS,

·  Analysis of CMM results (Valisys and pcDMIS software).

·  Use of measuring equipment

·  Preparation and completion of First Article Inspection (FAI) reports

·  Calibration of measuring equipment
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Ability to read and understand technical documentation

·  Proven experience of understanding and conforming parts against design data (2D drawings, models etc…) using inspection methods

·  Proven experience of using measuring equipment

·  Good knowledge of health and safety

·  PC literate including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel

·  Equally experienced in working in a team, as well as able to work on own initiative

Desired Characteristics

·  Previous inspection experience in an Aerospace environment (AS9100, Part 21G, Part 145 etc... approvals)

·  FAIR experience (AS9102)

·  An understanding of the MRP system would be desirable

·  Desire to learn and evolve with the business

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
