Job Description Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector is a critical and active role to maintain re-manufacturing inspection compliance and achieve desired deliverable output in Noblejas R&R facility. This is achieved by working directly on Wind Turbine components which require quality control and assurance verification. Inspector will communicate and directly report to Quality Lead and Quality Leadership. Inspections of a variety of components are required including multiple on-job training quality disciplines.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities: 

​As the Quality Assurance Inspector you will:

·  ​Perform in process and Final Quality Control/Assurance inspections of Wind Turbine components such as Gearboxes, Main Shafts, Drivetrains, Hubs, Machine Heads, and other components as necessary.
·  ​Produce and maintain documentation for inspections performed.
·  ​Responsible for creating non-conforming reports in accordance with GEV WIND services control of non-conforming materials.
·  ​Assist in development of of Quality procedures and other work instructions or processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.to support reduction of quality defects or site improvements.
·  ​Ability to use metrology instruments to perform tolerance inspections that include but not limited to Portable Coordinate Measurement Machines (PCMM), Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM), Laser Trackers, Micrometers, Rulers, Tapes, etc.
·  ​Ability to use surface condition tooling & equipment to measure material surface hardness & roughness.
·  ​Ability to operate and evaluate Gearbox serial test stand data and functional testing including vibrational analysis.
·  ​Shall posses the ability to obtain and maintain Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level II or equivalent Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI) methods. Above stated NDT method expectation requirements are subject to local Quality Leader and are determined by production demand and availability.
·  ​Will be required to work in multiple areas throughout the facility wherever quality support is needed.
·  ​Will be required to perform and document Critical To Quality (CTQ) inspections in the assembly line or in designated quality defined areas.
·  ​Will be required to perform and document receiving/inbound and shipping/outbound shipping inspections and/or verifications to ensure quality control/assurance of product.
·  ​Support Lean Manufacturing activities including events such as daily workstation checks, 5S, Kaizen events, etc.
·  ​Will be required to obtain the ability to perform borescope inspections of Gearbox’s and other components which require internal inspection to determine the condition and generate reports for further evaluation where necessary.
·  ​Will be responsible for documented daily activities such as applied hours to specific work orders, completing inspection reports, customer reports, and supporting local KPI requirements.
·  Read and understand electrical & mechanical engineering drawings
·  Follow all EHS guidelines and policies

Qualifications/Requirements

·  English knowledge at least at written level
·  MS Office experience
·  Desired: Lean Manufacturing knowledge
·  Prior experience and certified at operating forklifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes will be valued
·  Demonstrated teamwork skills
·  Self-motivated to work with minimal guidance and willingness to learn from others
·  Flexibility to change the work shift
