GE Grid Automation unit in Walbrzych, Poland is an emerging and growing business in the field of protection relays, CCS and DCS solutions for distribution, transmission and industry sectors of energy market. The region in which we are mainly active includes Poland, Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Moldova. We are dynamically introducing digital substation technology with several success stories in the region behind.
We are now looking forward to strengthening our Project Management team in order to deliver to our commitments and grow further.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this position are:

  • Manage / coordinate delivery of projects, incl.:
    • communicate with clients,
    • prepare and coordinate projects plans & time schedules,
    • monitor progress of projects,
    • control projects scope and costs,
    • negotiate cost and price of variation orders,
    • monitor, manage & mitigate risks on projects,
    • manage and coordinate contracts with subcontractors,
    • organise and coordinate engineering resources (both internal and external),
    • manage projects documentation,
    • manage cost deviations,
  • Organize engineering works on projects with special attention to EHS regulations and instructions;
  • Work with suppliers (both GE and external);
  • Contribute to customer agreements at tendering stage;
  • Report projects progress and costs to management.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Technical High School Diploma or equivalent required (electrotechnics/faculty of protection & automation in energy systems will be a plus);
  • Experience/skills:
    • Working experience in power systems, protection relays, computer networks;
    • Knowledge of HV/MV systems – standards, specifications, communication protocols;
    • Sound interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse groups of clients, both external and internal;
  • Specific knowledge:
    • Native or fluent Polish;
    • Languages:
      • English to effectively communicate with customers abroad and other GE functions abroad;
      • Ukrainian (Russian) or German will be a plus;
    • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information;

The position involves travelling to customers’ sites home and abroad of 20% of working time. Hybrid mode of work (office/home office).
