Job Description Summary
The Project Scheduler is a new pivotal role within our Future programmes Value Stream related to new technology introduction, responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling projects from initiation through completion for this exciting new technology project with GE aerospace reporting in to the NPI Programmes Leader. This role ensures project delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with our stringent safety and quality standards.This role will build on your background in engineering, end to end project execution through the New Product Introduction lifecycle stages with primary focus around project management disciplines including the development and maintenance of detailed project scheduling, tracking and monitoring of a detailed Integrated Master Schedule and sub level projects fully resourced and costed schedules, project financial cost control and reporting, metrics, visual management, Risk and Opportunities Management, expediting tasking and activities as required and problem solving.
Some UK and international travel may be required to support project partners including customers, suppliers, and engineering service providers.

Role & Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional co-ordination across multiple functions, engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality assurance, finance and supply chain, to ensure alignment to schedule, goals and timelines.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules and integrated master plans using project management tools.
- Generation and Implementation of IMP/IMS: focussed on Significant Events (Inch Stones), Accomplishments and Accomplishment Criteria based on flowdown from the SoW, Requirements and WBS, including TRL/MRLs, TollGate milestones, Resources and costed IMS with critical path.
- The Schedule with tasks and milestones will be developed with the functions responsible for the task completion and bought off by each function.
- Generate level 1 and level 2 graphical programme plans and project dashboard to aid wider communication.
- Review monthly cost and spend activities including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling costs to ensure project financial health supporting the Project Financial Accountant.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate risks to schedule and cost.
- Provide regular reports (monthly progress reports), dashboards on project status, schedule, and cost performance to project teams and stakeholders.
- Update the project Flight Deck action trackers
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in project scheduling and cost control processes.
- Risk management is key part of the role, take ownership of the overall Programme Risk & Opportunity (R&O) register, lead the risk and opportunity reviews, and summarise the R&O burndown and mitigation strategies.
- Support bid and proposal estimates using work breakdown structure methodologies to estimate the labour and material requirements and support the company strategic planning process.
- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the project strategy or objectives.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Engineering degree, mechanical, aerospace engineering or equivalent.
- In depth knowledge and experience of Microsoft Project to capture inputs, track, monitor and control a project/ IMS in an NPI environment is a must have.
- Broad experience of utilising R&O management tools and defining mitigation strategies
- In depth knowledge of project cost, spend, monitoring and control, Earned Value Management a plus.
- Product delivery and manufacturing environment experience.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and lead cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability and experience of working with customers.
- A confident and articulate communicator, both verbally and written.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

- Experience of owning the full project schedule & IMS, capturing inputs to drive critical path analysis to deliver financial performance, ideally in a product delivery or manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and integrity in all aspects of the role.
- Demonstrated competency in using standard Microsoft applications in particular MS Project critical path analysis, MS Excel including pivot tables, graphs etc and MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
