Role Summary/Purpose

The Production Technician role will form part of a small operational team in new pilot scale manufacturing facility based in Stevenage in the UK that is being commissioned to provide a flexible launch capabilities for a number of new commercial products.
Essential Responsibilities

This presents an opportunity for an individual with the appropriate skills and experience to play a key part setting up new production lines. They will be responsible for producing high value breakthrough technologies that will improve the manufacture of medicinal products to benefits patients worldwide.
This will involve working under a stringent quality process with all tasks performed in accordance with relevant global and local Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Therefore communication, teamwork and compliance to Environmental, Health & Safety policy and procedures are critical.

Key responsibilities:

·  Batch processing, assay and package of chemically functionalised fibre material in accordance with established procedures.

·  Material/Inventory planning and ordering using ERP software (Oracle)

·  Preparation of materials prior to a manufacturing batch

·  Accurately complete all batch records and related documentation

·  Handling and removal of waste streams

·  Routine calibration of manufacturing equipment

·  Comply with all applicable Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements

·  Highlight and communicate any process problems to the Production Manager

·  Perform housekeeping activities to ensure clean and safe working environments

·  Comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

·  Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

·  Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns
Qualifications/Requirements

·  B.Sc in Biology/Chemistry related discipline or equivalent – industrial experience will be considered as an alternate or equivalent knowledge or experience

·  Some experience of working with chemicals in a laboratory or industrial setting

·  Excellent computer/data entry

·  Excellent record keeping and organizational skills

·  A degree of manual handling is required for this role or equivalent knowledge or experience
