Role Summary/Purpose

Power Digital team continues to embed deep domain expertise and latest and greatest in data science and AI/ML into digital applications across power generation, transmission and distribution systems. We are building one of world’s most comprehensive analytics catalog with reusable, repeatable and adaptable models with learning capability that will enable faster time to value and optimized cost of ownership for software applications.
Essential Responsibilities

This role provides the candidate with the opportunity to play a part in the continued digital maturation of the GE digital business and to both witness and influence the continued symbiosis between the organization's business/product development and technology strategies. In particular, this role will enable the candidate to build scalable product architecture for data science, AI/ML and advanced analytics based digital offerings such as asset performance management, operations performance management, digital worker, grid analytics, analytics catalog etc. This will allow candidate to lead rationalization of architecture for all analytics being developed across the organization and lay out path for convergence of systems and infrastructure to enable efficiency and integrated product functionality to approach Network Level Optimization.

This position will lead, consults or oversees multiple architectural engagements. Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge within IIOT, edge computing: technical, solutions, business or information. Leads analytics, data science and AI/ML specific architecture.

In this role, you will:

·  Lead and coordinate the data and analytics, AI & ML technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction across multiple teams or complex product line

·  Produce and validate reference architecture implementations, labs, and presentations to evangelize design patterns and best practices for AI and ML services.

·  Analyze, design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.

·  Review development of AI & ML based software platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components across teams (multiple teams) that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.

·  Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities for multiple teams or complex scenarios.

·  Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentors others throughout the domain. Share technical, procedural, and business knowledge with others.

·  Leverage edge computing expertise; you are expected to further the knowledge and improve productivity of your colleagues with activities such as creating learning content, giving presentations, and supporting a continuous learning culture.
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

·  A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in a technical area (Architecture, Software, or Information Technology)

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise

·  3-5 years of experience in design/implementation experience of Machine Learning or Deep Learning solutions.

·  3-5 years of experience in performing data exploration and feature engineering.

·  Understanding and experience with one or more Deep Learning frameworks such as Apache MXNet, TensorFlow, Caffe2, Keras, Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit, Torch and Theanu.

·  Experience working with RESTful API and service oriented architecture

·  Familiarity with cloud principles such as continuous delivery, systems reliability, and security

·  An understanding of agile development practices and common tools, such as Github, Jira, etc.

·  Software programming with Python or R

·  Participates in enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development

·  Reviews and/or analyzes and develops architectural requirements at domain level, aligning architectural requirements with software development strategy.

·  Recommends allocation of budget to meet architectural initiatives critical to business/mission success. Develops the business case for approval.

·  Provides leadership, technology guidance and mentors others throughout their domain. Define the sills, competencies in the skills and talents for architecture team members.

·  Facilitates dialogues that produce new perspectives and trigger recommendations for substantial innovative / enhancements, and analysis of consequences.

·  Influences through others. Uses experts or other third parties to influence. Builds direct and “behind the scenes” support for ideas, uses chains of indirect influence.
