Role Summary/Purpose

The process engineer will be responsible for driving GPM (GE Professional Maintenance) programs working with the sites engineers to deal with breakdown recovery and corrective maintenance on process equipment determining root causes of failure.

The process engineer will lead process engineering projects, lean manufacturing line improvements, scrap reduction, and automation upgrade projects.

Essential Responsibilities

Key activities will involve driving process development, partnering with the technical support team to design and implement new equipment, assessing production for quality improvements, and validations of new or improved processes and manufacturing equipment.

The Process Engineer will have a demonstrable commitment to excellence in manufacturing, and will be expected to support the sites critical audit schedule with occasional weekend and late evening support, depending on plant availability and scheduling of maintenance tasks. They will also support the site Duty Engineers on call system out of hours.

The Process Engineer will report to the Engineering Production Manager.
• Continuously improve production processes in manufacturing
• Lead project teams as part of product improvements, automation, and quality improvements
• Troubleshoot issues that arise within the manufacturing process, driving to root cause
• Serve as advocate and role model for integrating change into the organization as well as serve as departmental role model of professional behavior and presence.
• Lead change control activities and process within cross functional departments
• Support Capital and lead Improvement Projects
• Project liaison sharing technical knowledge/experience.
• PLC and Control systems interaction for Commissioning and Maintenance.
• Create and approve URS's, GPM Sheets, Engineering Procedures
• Demonstrable fault finding skills
• Face Internal and External Audit Program
• On-Call Duty Engineer

Desired profile

Qualifications/Requirements

• Experience as time served Process Engineer
• Experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment
• Experience with regulated environment documentation practices
• Must be able to lead cross-functional teams in problem solving, development of improvement plans and root cause-analysis.
• Experience of commissioning and maintenance of complex plant and equipment
• Project Management experience
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings
• IT literate (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel,)
