Job Description Summary
We are looking for an Operations Technician to join the Ashalim Solar Plant, located in the south of Israel.As an Operations Technician you will be part of a team working in shifts in the field and in Control Room, ensuring a safe and efficient operation of the plant, according to the Grid Company demand, company regulations and contract with the Customer.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine walk down for plant equipment observation. Take readings from meters and gauges at established intervals and take corrective steps as necessary.
In addition, monitor equipment parameters such as temperature, pressure, leaks and noise.
2. Open and close valves and switches in sequence upon shift supervisor instruction, in order to start or shut down the units.
3. Respond to variances in normal station operating parameters and taking necessary corrective actions in order to maintain safe operation of the plant.
4. Operate or control equipment - Boilers, Pumps, Air compressors filters, using control boards or semi-automatic equipment.
5. Monitor plant activity from the Control Room.
6. Issue service requests whenever a deviation or malfunction of equipment is observed and report equipment deficiencies and record required information to initiate repairs.
7. Ensure compliance with all site Quality Procedures, Work Instructions and EHS policy and procedures.
8. Report unsafe conditions, events and hazards to the Shift Supervisor.
9. Maintain and update all routines, schedules and reports with relevant plant operating data.
10. Assist in routine testing of plant and equipment.
11. Preform chemical activities such as the transfer of chemicals from IBC to IBC/Tanks.
12. Collect water samples for laboratory analysis.
13. Preform isolation of equipment before maintenance activity - mechanical and electrical (LOTO).
14. Initiates & update company procedures using Facility designer’s operation manuals/procedures and equipment Vendors' instructions.
15. Support shift supervisor in all required tasks.
16. Follow shift roster and align training time to operational activities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Technical qualifications and/or equivalent work experience
2. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Field Operator and working in a Control Room, preferably in a Power Station
3. Knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation and maintenance of a Power Station or Industrial Facility
4. Able to read and understand P&IDs and different technical materials pertinent to power plant operation – an advantage
5. Fluent Hebrew and English (both verbal and written)
6. Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
7. Willingness to work in heights climb ladders, stairways and work on platforms
