Role Summary/Purpose
We are looking for a Working Student (m/w) who will support our Engineering team for at least 6 months. The exact start date is flexible but should fall in the February to April 2020 time frame.
The intern will be working closely with the engineering team that designs core controls algorithms for GE’s fleet of onshore wind turbines that maximize power production and reduce mechanical loads acting on the turbine.
Essential Responsibilities
· Help improve the set of software tools used to simulate wind turbine system loads
· Use aero-elastic simulation tools to understand system level dynamics and control of modern wind turbines
Qualifications/Requirements
· Registered student with a focus on Engineering (electrical/mechanical)
· Fluent in English language
· Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired Characteristics
· First experience with Wind Energy, System Dynamics, and/or Control Systems
· Experience with Matlab/Simulink or a comparable software tool
· Ability to adapt quickly to change and work successfully in an evolving and culturally diverse environment
· German Language Skills
