Job Description

Your primary responsibilities will include: preparing, performing, testing and commissioning marine dynamic positioning systems, related activities in support of new build, upgrade and service-related projects. You will be equipped with the resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property.

In this role you will focus on:

  • Engineering activities - preparing, planning, testing and commissioning DP system upgrades. You will perform routine maintenance tasks and training across all GE Marine UK customer base DP systems, both onshore and offshore.

  • Analyzing, diagnosing and repairing DP related software and hardware defects across all DP systems installed across the GE Marine UK customer base.

  • Writing, updating and maintaining documentation in line with company procedures and best practice.

  • Providing technical support to both the customer and internal GE staff as required.

  • Liaising with the engineering department, Fleet Managers and other GE personnel as required to fulfil the role of DP Engineer.

  • Complying with both company and customer EHS policies, procedures and safe systems of work.

  • Maintaining personal competence by completing all applicable training in line with company requirements.

  • Carrying out marine service administrative tasks as directed by the marine service manager.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, from a reputable College or University or equivalent knowledge & experience

  • Recognized Health and Safety training including risk assessment.

  • Basic Life Support (CPR).

  • Valid Passport to Safety (PTS) training.

  • Experience with PC/PLC equipment

  • Established record of site work.

  • Health and Safety trained.

  • Flexibility around working pattern.

  • Willing and eligible to work world-wide and offshore.

  • Full Clean Driving license.

What will make you stand out:

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge & experience.

  • Valid Offshore survival training certificate

  • Valid Passport to Safety training certificate, IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.

  • Familiarity with IEC and marine classification society rules.

  • Some knowledge of programming techniques and languages.

  • Marine and Offshore experienced.

  • Proven years of experience acting in an engineering position in a marine environment
