Role Summary/Purpose
Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military and space. Unison’s products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying – from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747’w and rockets traveling to space. We presently have an opening for a 1st Shift Welder, working from 7 AM - 3:30 PM.
Essential Responsibilities
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Must be able to perform Level 2 functions.
Assist in leading Team initiatives.
Receive minimal training/guidance from Level 4 employees.
Effectively & efficiently produce parts according to certification and quality guidelines.
Assist in new process development and troubleshooting of products.
Possess the ability to perform welding functions in an area and/or product line outside of your home department.
Perform duties on more complex, proto-type or first time builds.
More frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department.
Utilize proper PPE and safety equipment; Other duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education Required:
o High School Education and/or GED.
Experience Required:
o Prior welding experience required, preferably 3-5 years of experience.
o Must be proficient in performing Level 2 responsibilities and illustrate capabilities to successful perform Level 3 responsibilities.
Skill Level Required:
o Level 2 skills required
o Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
o Expert understanding of weld symbols and schedules.
o Certifications requires per department requirements.
Desired Characteristics
Level 2 qualifications.
Past experience in a manufacturing environment & transferrable TIG welding experience
