Job Description Summary

The Metallurgical Lab Supervisor will be responsible for preparation and analysis of metallurgical lab samples, conducting evaluation, reporting findings, maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment, overseeing met lab operations and supporting new process initiatives.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

·  Ensure safety, quality, delivery and costs of metallurgical lab operation
·  Perform metallurgical sample preparation, including cutting, grinding, mounting and polishing to ensure accurate and reliable testing outcomes.
·  Conduct evaluations of coating and other microstructures using microscopic analysis. Test material properties such as hardness, tensile strength, and other relevant metrics.
·  Prepare the evaluation reports detailing testing procedures, results and analyses.
·  Develop and update work instructions, procedures and inspection forms.
·  Implement and manage operation maintenance programs and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed
·  Plan, schedule, and oversee metallurgical lab operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with standards.

Qualifications / Requirements:

·  Diploma in Materials Science, Material Engineering, or a related field.
·  Experience in a metallurgical laboratory setting, with expertise in sample preparation and material evaluation.
·  Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office
·  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
