Role Summary/Purpose
The Materials Technical Advisor 6 provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities
• Maintain effective remote location operations, repairing locomotives and executing other duties as required to meet customer needs
• Provide direction, material support, inventory planning and control
• Promote customer satisfaction and develop positive customer relationships
• Attain all aspects of production operation including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development in assigned areas
• Responsible for data driven decisions and utilizing Six Sigma tools
This role is based at the rail customer site in Winnipeg.
Desired profile
Qualifications/Requirements
• Post Secondary Education. Technical Diploma or Degree is preferred
• PC proficiency and data warehouse/production planning experience
• Willingness to work various shifts on various days
• Independent worker, capable of managing a small team, meeting customer needs and continuously improving without direct supervision.
• Leads by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism and a strong work ethic.
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience in Microsoft Office applications
• Customer service or contract experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
Desired Characteristics
• Experience in industrial operations or military leadership experience
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification or training is an asset
• Technical experience working on locomotives, mechanical or electrical
• Experience in a field site, shop or manufacturing environment is preferred
