Role Summary/Purpose
Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Material Handler – 1st shift to support NGS Meter Assembly in Houston, TX This position is responsible for moving material around the shop, putting away material, keeping the warehouse organized, delivering to the workstations in a timely manner, and maintaining the ERP system to track movement and receipt of the product.
Essential Responsibilities
In the role of Material Handler, you will:
· Stocks received material, as well as completed products and assemblies from in-house production
· Picks materials, components and end products and delivers them to production or shipping
· Prepares component kits for production, fills orders and supplier subcontract parts
· Receive inbound material from outside suppliers and other BHGE plants and field locations
· Performs cycle counts
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Diploma from an accredited college or university
· Minimum 1 years of warehouse experience
Eligibility Requirements:
· Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
· Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
· Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., carry up to 40 lbs., and push / pull up to 50 lbs
· Must be able to work 6am – 4pm shift
· Ability to operate material moving equipment, overhead crane, and/or obtain certification
Desired Characteristics
· Experience with working in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to apply concepts of basic math
· Possess basic written communication skills
· Basic computer skills (Excel experience preferred)
· Must have previous experience operating a forklift (Will offer training)
