Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing power system engineers in the Advanced Technology Organization (ATO) team and develop specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serve as best practice/quality resource for team members. Aware of latest technical developments in own area. Implement and lead new functionalities in power system application software which includes EMS (Energy Management System), DTS (Dispatcher Training Simulator) and Wide Area Measurement System (WAMS) applications. Provide maintenance of power systems application functionality, including code fixes, documentation, and user interfaces. Collaborate with system/project engineers, frontend developers and EMS/WAMS application developers to implement solutions that are aligned with product direction. Interface with customers on general and specific issues within area of functional expertise. Provide marketing support for proposals and demonstrations to potential customers. Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of power system related applications. Provide new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Position requires a Master’s Degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Electrical Engineering + 5 years of experience in a related power systems occupation. The position also requires: 5 years of experience in delivering software projects/services; 2 years of experience in leading project deliveries in Wide Area Measurement System (WAMS) applications; 3 years of experience with electric utility industry practices; 3 years of experience with grid stability; 3 years of experience with Phasor Measurement Units; 3 years of experience with power systems with a focus on WAMS applications like Phasor analytics or Linear State Estimator. Telecommuting is permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to offices in Bellevue, WA.

Salary for this position is $251,576 /yr. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 10% variable incentive compensation.
