Job Description Summary
MCU Lead Technician responsibility is to lead and assure that assigned Major Component Upgrade (MCU) Operations are executed according to GE’s priorities SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost), so be responsible to deliver the highest standards are in place related EHS, execution quality, deliver on time and cost optimization to ultimately meet customer expectations. Overall Lead the complete operation and interface with all parties involved during MCU execution, MCU Lead Technician fundamental responsibility also it is to identify improvements in any SQDC area and collaboration on the development of those.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
· MCU Lead Technician will Lead at site actively and become responsible in each assigned Major Component Exchange operation for all the steps, preparation, coordination, execution, and reporting.
· Lead and guide all the different parties involved in the execution of MCU to achieve the highest EHS, quality and cost standards. Serve as technical advisor for all the parties involved in the MCU at site
· Assure all active workers at MCU operation, including contractors, have proper qualification, documentation and skills and are performing as per highest standards in every task and serve as technical advisor when unclear situations
· Partner with MCU PM, GE Service Teams, Contractors and other functions to deliver best in class MCU execution addressing unexpected events.
· Effectively and proactively identify and address potential unplanned situation to keep the execution.
· Ensure all required necessary documentation is properly managed and different internal reporting is provided
· Identify ideas of improvement in SQDC and collaborate in the development of the new tools and methodology to increase efficiency and increase safety for all operations under Majors operation responsibility.
· Review and provide feedback about MCU Work instructions (WDI’s) providing appropriate inputs about improvements and support Methods & Process team during creation or update of WDI related to MCU to implement best practices.
· Compliance with statutory and GE internal EHS requirements.
· As needed operate the WTG required for MCU purposes
Qualifications & Requirements
· At least 3 years’ experience leading crane operations in end-to-end execution
· At least 3 years’ experience within the Wind Maintenance sector, other energy or industrial segments.
· Demonstrated high safety and quality mindset
· Flexibility to continuously travel (>85%) domestic and abroad and working hours to adjust to operational windows at MCU operations
· Fluent in English and in other European language.
· A good teamwork leader able to work in a dynamic and complex matrix environment, equipped with quick learning capability and ownership.
· High degree leadership at site with safety and quality awareness, excellent in anticipating issues and remedy to deliver as per plan
· Able to work at heights and high level of physical fitness.
· Familiar with Wind Turbine Generator mechanical/electrical areas
· Familiar with MSOffice and GE software tools
· Ability to work independently
· Class B driving license. AU Work Permit.
