Role Summary/Purpose

The Maintenance Technician PLC VFD - 2nd Shift will perform duties maintenance service and repair in the areas of rotating equipment, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing in an industrial environment.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:

·  Perform programming, troubleshooting, and repairs to PLC’s, VFD, other computer-controlled logic devices throughout the plant
·  Perform preventative maintenance on all aspects of plant infrastructure and equipment
·  Be responsible for repairing and returning equipment to service status
·  Execute work plans for non-standard facilities work
·  Perform standard work supporting LEAN methodologies
·  Repair electro-mechanical equipment using an analytical step-by-step process, standard maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
·  Actively participate in various technical and continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, LEAN)
·  Participate in various EH&S and ergonomic assessments of assigned processes
·  Be responsible for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities related to plant operations
·  Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs and general maintenance as needed in an industrial environment
·  Execute planned work assignments; perform duties with a minimum of direct supervision
·  Assist team members when necessary in the general maintenance and operation of manufacturing processes, infrastructure, and grounds
·  Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
·  Scope materials and parts required to support equipment repairs and preventative maintenance efforts
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronic Technology, or comparable content degree program (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment performing facilities / equipment maintenance and/or electronic and mechanical troubleshooting / repairs)
·  Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience

Eligibility Requirement:

·  Ability and willingness to work emergency on-call hours, holidays, weekends, and overtime on request and short notice
·  Ability and willingness to work on elevated platforms and/or high places
Desired Characteristics

·  Demonstrated experience with PLC and VFD Programming Software Interface
·  Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
·  Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware and software. Network/IT experience highly desired
·  Previous background in programming, commissioning and startup of PLC controls (Allen Bradley) based controls systems
·  Basic and advanced electrical, electronic troubleshooting
·  Demonstrated use of PLC Programming Software Interface for troubleshooting
·  Ability to diagnose and repair basic PLC Hardware problems
·  Basic understanding of HMI Systems
·  Diagnose and repair sensors, switches, field devices, etc…
·  Installation, Setup and Troubleshooting of VFD and DC Drives
·  Ability to program PLC’s on multiple platforms such as Allen Bradley, Talon, etc.
·  Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and propose & implement solutions
·  Ability to troubleshoot wire up and make modifications to highly automated equipment such as; AC / DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, Servo motors, and PLC I/O modules
·  Thorough understanding of electrical controls systems, schematics, AC and DC motors controls and drives, control logic and/or thorough understanding of mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, and inspection techniques (if specialized in mechanical maintenance)
·  Ability to diagnose equipment electro-mechanical failures using the OEM troubleshooting guides
·  Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards
·  Ability to work from verbal instructions as well as blueprints, and/or working drawings
·  Ability to scope materials and parts required for installations and repairs
·  Ability to quickly assess the work to be performed and complete the task safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
·  Working knowledge of LOTO, industrial codes and standard procedures (ANSI, NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
·  Ability to work within a team environment, be a dependable & accountable self-starter, and have organizational skills
·  Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
·  Overhead bridge crane inspection, crane maintenance, and crane repair experience
·  3-Phase 480 Volt Electrical experience
