Role Summary/Purpose

This position is responsible for the building's preventive maintenance, repair and project work which supports the multi-million dollar North American Nuclear Medicine Business. The Maintenance Associate assists the department Team Leader/Maintenance Manager in managing the daily workloads and interacts with many departments, including Health Physics, Manufacturing and Engineering. The Maintenance Associate is expected to remain current on best practices, training and technology standards.
Essential Responsibilities

1. Adhere to internal Quality Policies, Procedures and cGMPs as they pertain to the position to ensure that all products are safe, pure, effective and of the highest quality
2. Responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of the building and its support systems
3. Perform maintenance and repairs in the following areas: plumbing, mechanics, electrical wiring, pneumatics, motors, pumps, HVAC equipment and vacuum systems
4. Complete minor site installation and construction
5. Perform preventive maintenance, repairs and replacement of manipulators that are used in the production hot cells
6. Required to be on-call for 7 consecutive days on a rotating basis, including the Sunday that falls within the on-call rotation
7. Assist other Maintenance and Engineering team members on projects and maintenance repair when necessary
8. Routinely operate, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on facility HVAC and temperature control systems (Automated Building Management System)
9. Contribute as a team player within the Maintenance Department and throughout the entire GEHC organization, including accepting constructive criticism and dealing calmly with high-stress situations
10. Install and service lighting and control devices for the facility
11. Responsible for site compliance with radiation procedures, including individual dose management
12. Support the Instrument Technicians with production equipment issues
13. Support cyclotron operations and maintain/repair cyclotron-related equipment
14. Support projects in the installation of new systems and/or equipment
15. Maintain and service process water/D.I. water systems (controls, pumps, sensors, valves and tanks)
16. Oversee outside contractors
Qualifications/Requirements

1. High School diploma/GED and 5 years of work experience in a facilities maintenance role or technical school degree/certifications and 2 years of work experience in a facilities maintenance role
2. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment
3. Knowledge in troubleshooting electrical issues and making necessary repairs
4. Ability to read schematic drawings
5. Must understand oral/written technical English and possess basic computer/data entry skills
6. Possess strong communication skills with the ability to work independently
7. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, including 7 days on-call
8. Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at heights, including operation of man lift powered industrial trucks
9. Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. and experience using material handling equipment
10. Ability to wear and work in protective clothing, including respiratory protection, confined space entry and clean room environments
11. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
12. Must be willing to submit to a drug test, background investigation, including verification of previous employment, criminal history and educational credentials
Desired Characteristics

1. Minimum 5 years of experience working in a maintenance function in a healthcare manufacturing environment
2. Prior experience performing work within a radioactive environment
3. Prior experience working with Automated Building Management Systems
