Job Description
Please note that this role is not office based. Material Handling experience in a warehouse setting would be of most use for this particular position.
Key Responsibilities:
· Material Handling: Transport materials from receiving or production areas to designated locations using manual or electric hand trucks.
· Kitting Materials: Prepare and kit materials for delivery to the manufacturing line.
· 5S Inspections: Conduct regular 5S inspections to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
· Safety and Compliance: Adhere to and promote EHS best practices, aligning fully with GE EHS standards.
Knowledge and Expertise:
· Transportation Methods: Proficiency in road, sea, air, and multimodal freight.
· Specialized Freight: Experience with dangerous goods, heavy lifts, and oversized loads.
· Industrial Packing and Import/Export: Knowledge of industrial packing techniques and import/export procedures.
Shift Flexibility:
· Shift Patterns: Early and late shifts (6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, Monday – Thursday), with shorter shifts on Fridays.
· Shift Premium: Additional allowance for shift work beyond base salary.
· Future Shifts: Potential for minor adjustments as production increases and stabilizes.
The Ideal Candidate:
· Education and Experience: Good general education and proven experience in material handling.
· Technical Skills: Familiarity with computerized stores management systems (SAP knowledge is a plus) and understanding of Kanban/FIFO systems.
· Certifications: Forklift truck operator certificate. Counterbalance/Aisle Master and Multi-Directional (Combi) licenses are desirable.
· Personal Attributes:
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and results driven.
· Able to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
· Proficiency in English (additional languages are a bonus).
· Willingness to work flexible shift patterns to meet production needs.
