Responsible for ensuring that the specified scope (package / material) is completely delivered at the required location, safely, at the right time, in good condition and within the allocated budget.

Knowledge / Expertise
• Road freight, sea freight, air freight and multimodal
• Dangerous goods
• Heavy lifts & oversized loads
• Industrial packing
• Import/export procedures

This role will require flexibility to meet production demands. During busy periods there will be a requirement to work across early and late shifts (between 6am - 10.00pm).

Shift working will attract a premium allowance in addition to base salary.


Future Shifts: 6am -2pm and 2pm - 10pm (Monday – Thursday) and shorter shifts on Fridays.

As production ramps up and we stabilise with two lines and 2 shifts this may change very slightly.

Job Description

The Role – Manufacturing Operator

Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.

Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Operative: -
    • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or electric hand truck.
      Kit materials for delivery for the manufacturing line - As & when required support any other duties that may be required to support the manufacturing facility
    • Carry out 5S inspections
    • Ensure EHS best practice and fully align to GE EHS

The Person

  • Good general standard of education.
  • Demonstrated experience in material handling.
  • Prepared to be flexible and work shift patterns when required, to meet production demands

Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of computerized stores management systems (Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial)
  • Knowledge of Kanban / FIFO systems desirable
  • Forklift truck operator certificate
  • Counter-Balance/Aisle Master License desirable
  • Multi-Directional (Combi) License desirable

  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivating, proactive and results driven approach
  • Able to work to deadlines with good quality
  • Proficient in the English language, written and verbal. Other languages are bonus.
  • Open to working shifts patterns to keep up with production demands
