Role Summary/Purpose
The primary objective of this position is to translate the plant Lean Masterplan into activities and actions to improve relevant plant KPIs (financial and non-financial). Activities such as Lean Projects, LMPS, ‘why-not’, best practice sharing, standardization, Action-Work-Outs (AWOs), reporting, communication, mentoring, skills capability improvement, networking will also be at the core of this position to ensure sustainable results and development of Lean culture at the plant.
Essential Responsibilities
• Support/deliver Lean Strategy in the Plant
• Influence key stakeholders of Lean Strategy
• Develop/support Lean culture though activities and behaviors
• Ensure plant has Lean capacity and capability versus standards, continually enhance Lean skill, and practices across the plant
• Ensure Lean teams are focusing on improving their main KPIs
• Ensure plant follow agreed LM/GE Lean standards
• Ensure relevant plant communication on Lean improvements through the defined channels
• Support/conduct relevant assessments (eg LMPS, LEAN/BF)
• Lead/Support on small to medium level impact projects (mainly PDCA or GB projects)
• Facilitate execution and when necessary provide additional coaching and training
• Support/run plant Action-Work-Outs (AWOs)
• Communicate status of results of projects to relevant stakeholders
• Lead and drive LMPS at the plant
• Best practice sharing
• Define and execute /support LMPS training plan at all levels and areas (link also with CoE)
• Support training & development processes
• Coach & mentor team members and stakeholders
• Fully engage with ‘Share Beliefs’ culture
• Identify, locate and adhere to the “LM Quality Policy”
Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a strong preference in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Manufacturing Eng. required (from a recognized Institute)
• 3 years of experience in Lean
• Successfully completed several Lean Projects
This is a safety sensitive position in a heavy manufacturing environment
Desired Characteristics
• Flexible for international travel up to 25% of their time
• Project Management Professional - preferable (from a recognized Institute)
• Master’s degree preferred in Production / Industrial Engineering (from a recognized Institute)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from a recognized Institute (completed or in progress)
• Change management
