Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Staff Software Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing innovative SW components for an autonomous systems management product. The role will work on the development of software components is expected to fit within a security architecture framework that accommodates security features for client services, and internal services.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Be responsible for developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development and infrastructure
·  Ability to create and implement software based on product requirements 
·  Participate as a team member with other developers in planning and execution and/or design architecture using agile methodologies such as SCRUM 
·  Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision  
·  Support impact assessment and decision related o technology choices, design/architectural considerations and implementation strategy 
·  Understand core data structures as well as algorithms and can implement them using the language of choice when necessary
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) 
·  A minimum of 2 years of technical experience along with a track record in disciplines and functions within a product/project OR a Master’s/PhD degree with 1 year of experience.

Eligibility Requirements: 
·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills. 
·  Must be willing to travel 10%
·  Must be willing to work out of an office located in Boston, MA
Desired Characteristics

·  Experience with development of cloud-based web services using AWS
·  Experience in Java and experience in frameworks such as JQuery, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, SQL, NoSQL  
·  Hands-on experience with DevOps technologies such as continuous integration using Docker, Maven and Jenkins
·  Experience with the practices and dynamics in an Agile development process
·  Use of documentation tools 
·  Ability to evaluate and select technology to add features and roadmaps
