Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Specialist Operational EHS will provide day-to-day EHS support for manufacturing operations and facility maintenance activities.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Responsibilities include: Preparing compliance and technical reports to environment, health and safety regulatory requirements, evaluating workplace hazards and implementing safety defenses, conducting training to satisfy regulatory and business requirements, investigating incidents, implementing EHS programs, and managing facility maintenance. 
·  The Lead Specialist will be a member of the plant leadership team and will work closely with the Plant Manager to drive safety culture, encourage employee engagement in EHS programs, and monitor EHS performance metrics. 
·  The Lead Specialist will also work closely with business-level EHS professionals to communicate and execute EHS business strategy and to implement new requirements driven by either regulation or Corporate standards.  
·  The position will be located at the GE Transportation locomotive remanufacturing facility in Cleveland, Ohio. 
·  The Lead Specialist will be expected to work as a part of the dynamic cross-functional team that supports this operation. 
·  The Specialist will be relied on for their EHS technical expertise, as well as their ability to aid in continuous improvement and problem solving.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety). Minimum of 3 years of experience in Environment, Health and Safety.
