Role Summary/Purpose
The Lead Production Planner will convert the MPS master schedule from Central Planning into an executable production plan for the shop floor. Working in the next 13-week window, but as far as 2 years with the central planning team, the production planner will work alongside the production and cell materials teams. They will set and maintain the plan according to known constraints and additionally, they will hold the production team accountable to this plan and highlight forthcoming constraints.
Essential Responsibilities
· Conversion of MPS master schedule at LRU level, into a production plan at all levels of the BOM
· Develop a keen understanding of constraints to the plan, including building a feedback loop to account for
· Demand stability including accounting for unplanned demand (RMA, upgrades)
· Material shortages
· Manpower constraints, including productivity
· Process/machine capacity, including working to understand changes in effectivity (OEE)
· Yield issues
· Co-ordinate cross functional teams in the maintenance of critical data for planning purposes (lead time, yield, attrition etc.)
· Work seamlessly across the functions to balance supply and demand to internal and external customers
· Highlight and drive the team to proactively work capacity constraints preventing us satisfying the customer
· Continued focus on driving the team to achieve works order on time delivery (to starts and to completion)
· Creation and tracking of critical recovery plans
· Communicate the status of the plan to all levels of the business (shop floor to EB site leader)
· Ability to balance a range of critical measures (customer OTD, inventory, direct labour productivity, scrap) to drive the right outcomes for the customer and the business
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and experience in supply chain operations
· Relevant experience in Materials/Production Planning and Execution
