Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
General
· Participates in the R&D activities within the unit and across global R&D projects within ITR organizational
· Identifies manufacturing/engineering deficiencies, proposes solutions and improvements
Technical
· Responsible for the design of the products manufactured or designed in USC/ITR. Guarantees product compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
· Ensures that all technical documentation, issued by the Engineering/R&D group, required for the manufacturing and sales of the products (drawings, bill of materials, instructions, manuals, material specifications etc.) is prepared in high quality, efficiently and in a timely manner.
· Leads the development of new products, improvement and customization of existing products. Works closely with unit and ITR departments involved in the development process.
· Provides technical support in the resolution of field problems. Provides technical guidance to suppliers, working closely with Supply Chain and Sourcing. Supports manufacturing on a daily basis.
· Supports the sales effort in the preparation of proposals and quotations, and the review of non-standard requirements.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical
· Minimum of 3 years' experience as mechanical engineer
· 2D and 3D on-hands design and drafting experience is required.
Desired Characteristics
· Good communication skills, including written and verbal English
· Second language skills are of benefit
