Role Summary/Purpose

This Lead Design Liaison Engineer - Mechanical Components posting supports the DLE team assigned to progress development and manufacture of generators and associated equipment within the design engineering group. In the role of Lead Design Liaison Engineer - Mechanical Components, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Execute the design, analysis and evaluation of the assigned generators using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

·  Positively affect production yield, execute and minimize MRB, and resolve root cause investigations

·  Provide technical leadership to personnel / cross functional teams supporting the electric generator production

·  Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

·  Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues

·  Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience)

·  A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering position

Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in Electric Generator or complex aerospace component and/or module design roles

·  Significant experience executing MRB of aerospace components and assemblies, resolving root cause to production or design misses, and leading yield improvement projects

·  Effective team building and project management ability

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skill

·  Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization, external customers, and suppliers

·  Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly procedures

·  Experience with GD&T- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

·  Strong project management skills

·  Ability to develop strategies and execute plans with a sense of urgency

·  Strong oral and written communication skills
