Role Overview:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate technical leadership and provide analytical support to the Aeroderivative Engine Organization (AEO) and Future of Flight (FoF) in activities related to NTI, NPI, RCA, design of new technologies, and more.

· 
Main responsibility of the team is mechanical design of bearings, sumps, seals, etc. and design of pressurization, ventilation and lubrication fluid systems of the engine per required design practices.

· 
Hardware owner who is responsible for the sustaining lifecycle of their part (i.e., field history/distress modes, part reparability, durability, etc.). This includes experience in building overhaul relationships to improve part serviceability and repairability. This individual will work proactively to define and execute the long-term strategic plan for their hardware, and support investigations, product improvements, producibility changes & cost reductions, field actions, and engine/component tests.

This engineer is responsible for understanding manufacturing processes/challenges.

· 
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

·  Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
· 
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

· 
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

The Ideal Candidate:

As Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer with  years of experience who can own engine hardware across its lifecycle, drive RCA and product improvements, and execute disciplined design/analysis to program requirements. They understand manufacturing constraints, collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams, and bring a continuous improvement mindset with clear, candid communication. 

Required Qualifications:

· 
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering field

· 
At least 5 additional years of experience in an engineering position.



Preferred Qualifications:

· 
Have experience on Siemens NX/UG

· 
Have experience on Ansys APDL, Workbench, Hypermesh

· 
GD&T awareness

· 
Solid grasp of the physics of fluid dynamics and heat transfer, and their application in thermal design and assessment.

· 
Strong oral and written communication skills.

· 
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

· 
Ability to document, plan, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
