Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Design Engineer role will be focused on additive design consulting and helping customers find the right additive applications. This may entail training, designing, co-creation or physical prototyping.
Essential Responsibilities

The Lead Design Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals / programs / processes for an area or business segment. Has the experience or expertise to solve problems. Ability to develop and execute objectives for self and others. The Lead Design Engineer role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

In addition, as the Lead Design Engineer, you will :

·  Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

·  Provide technical leadership to personnel / cross functional teams supporting the assigned project

·  Implement plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systems

·  Develop action plans with guidance to respond to issues / problems

·  Lead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues

·  Recommend, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements

·  Participate and present or review in technical and program reviews

·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university

·  A minimum ot 3 years of engineering experience in aerospace, transportation, medical, power, renewable energy, oil & gas, or other technical technical industry

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job openin

·  Ability to travel up to 25% for the first six months with the possibility of a reduction to 25% travel thereafter
Desired Characteristics

·  A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in aerospace, transportation, medical, power, renewable energy, oil & gas, or other technical industry

·  Additive design or manufacturing experience a plus, but not required

·  Capability to work in a broad range of work from conceptual to detailed design

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

·  Strong technical aptitude related to components and systems of increasing complexity

·  Non-traditional thinkers and the ability to provide a non-traditional approach to mechanical design

·  Ability to influence others and lead small teams

·  Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
