Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead CMM programmer at GE Power will perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the Metrology lab . Includes Service Shops. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Develop CMM inspection programs for a variety of Power Turbine Components
·  Work with the Manufacturing, Quality and Design Engineering teams to produce inspection processes to meet short-term and long-term business goals
·  Provide technical expertise to the team; direct involvement with machining process development and quality verification
·  Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
·  Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments
·  Utilize CMM holding fixtures, attachments & accessories to determine best fit scenarios for location of inspection parts to maximize access to features for inspection & limit the need for multiple programs
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university at least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing
·  Minimum of 2 additional years of experience in CMM- Programming
·  PC-DMIS CMM language
CAD programming experience
Blueprint reading
·  metrology practices and layout
·  Proficient in English & Spanish 
·  Strong Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
