Role Summary/Purpose
This role is an intern position with GE Subsea project management team, and a duration of at least 8 months. More specifically, the intern will be given the ownership for planning, document and cost control activities. This position is based out of Bristol. This is an ideal opportunity to discover the project management function within the exciting oil & gas industry, and potentially join GE. This internship is aimed at last year engineering students or graduates.
Essential Responsibilities
· Schedule management: The intern will be introduced to the work of planning and trained to use the Primavera planning software by working under the supervision of a buddy/mentor. After this initial period of training, the intern will be given ownership of portion of the project scope to manage and plan. This will mean working with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing and logistic functions to determine the forecasted dates for completion of activities and incorporate these information into the schedule and perform analysis. The intern will then be tasked with a process improvement project related to planning and project management.
· Document control: documents form part of project deliverables to the client, to the same extent as material deliverables. These documents need to be provided to the customer on time and with the right level of quality. Several improvement initiatives are currently ongoing within the document control department, and the intern will have the opportunity to participate and accelerate their implementation, as well as perform document control activities.
· Cost control: the intern will apply earned value management principles to monitor and control the project costs.

Qualifications/Requirements
· Engineering school student or equivalent.
· Master of Science or equivalent knowledge and experience.
· Strong command of the English language.
· Ideally project management and project planning knowledge (experience with Primavera or MS Project is a plus).
