Role Summary/Purpose
The Industrial Electrical Technician is an experienced electrical trade technician supporting the operation, maintenance and improvement of system-controlled robotics, machine tools and equipment. Apply knowledge to the electrical aspects of CNC machine tools, PLC ladder, VFD motors, and robotics. This is a Union Position with an hourly range beginning at least at $25.56/hour and dependent on qualifications, but topping rate of$34.48/hour. The progression to new rate is every 6 months.
Essential Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities As the Industrial Electrical Technician, you will:
· Work without direction on standard preventative maintenance and extensive repairs. Diagnose problems, plan and complete work required, identify and order parts.
· Install, modify, troubleshoot, test and repair electrical and electronic control systems up to 600V.
· Familiarity with electrical motors and control circuits
· Strong electrical fundamental and safety knowledge (electrical schematics, NFPA 79, LOTO)
· Maintain and modify machine tools, process equipment and facilities
Qualifications/Requirements
· Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology/Mechatronics (OR High School Diploma/GED with Military Advanced Electronics Training Course) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability and willingness to work off shifts and weekends
· Must be willing to work in Schenectady,
NY. GE may offset a portion of relocation costs
Desired Characteristics
· Minimum 3 years work experience in Manufacturing Facility in a technical maintenance role
· Ability to apply knowledge of components, devices and equipment used in industrial equipment applications and the related electronics including AC and DC motors, motors controls, electronic drives, PLC, instrumentation and sensors
· Demonstrate understanding of operating systems, software and ladder logic (Fanuc, Siemens) used in PLC systems to diagnose and repair circuits to restore operation
