Job Description Summary
Under general supervision operate various pieces of heavy construction equipment in support of site facilities maintenance operations. To include wheel loaders, backhoes, 45T mobile crane, dump trucks, mini-excavators, track excavators, skid steers, snowplow trucks, pickup trucks, fork trucks, tractor trailers with flatbeds, telescoping material handler, concrete road saw, compaction roller, air compressor, and vibratory compactor. To also include hand tools and handheld power tools, concrete core drill and jack hammer.Job Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
Troubleshoot & identify problems using diagnostic equipment and reading and interpreting schematics and diagrams & OEM manuals
Basic Maintenance to include regularly scheduled PM’s, checking and changing of oil and fluids, replacing worn parts such as starters, batteries, tires, brakes & pads, wheel bearings, and sensor repairs.
Advanced maintenance to include repairs such as transmission & differential overhauls, engine rebuilds, and electronic system troubleshooting.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and hose replacements.
Perform minor steel and aluminum fabrications for repairs to equipment
Perform snow plowing and snow removal for the site using wheel loaders with pusher blades, plow trucks with salters, skid steer with snow blower, push snow blowers, and handheld ice chisels and shovels as needed to provide an overall safe environment for all site employees.
Perform inter-plant trucking when required to pick up and deliver material and supplies
Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom lifts
Operate fork trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveries
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Order materials and parts for job execution
Request quotes from OEM vendors
Use current CMMS work order system to process and complete job assignments
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A.A.S. two-year degree or equivalent in applicable field of study
OR
Military advanced training in applicable field
OR
Journeyman credentials in applicable field
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
CDL Driver’s License
New York State Vehicle Inspector certification
New York State Mobile Crane operator certification
Welding & torch cutting experience
The base pay range for this position is $27.16 to $34.27 per hour with a $5.28 per hour transition adder. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
