Role Summary/Purpose
You will work in our Developer Productivity team, enabling continuous development and delivery of more than 20 released products which are in production at over 1000 customers around the world. You'll be motivated to give the Engineering team the tools and technologies they need to develop software quickly and efficiently, enabling fully automated CI/CD pipelines in a complex product stack.
Essential Responsibilities
You will be comfortable with rapidly changing technology and bring strong cloud delivery skills as well as working with locally hosted systems and solutions.
To succeed in this team, you will need to be comfortable with learning new technologies fast. You will be familiar with scripting languages such as Ruby and Perl, and be aware of build technologies like Ant, Ivy, Mercurial and Git, and tools to support Continuous Integration and Delivery such as Artifactory and Jenkins
You will be willing to take on any challenge, and will expect to combine planned work with ad hoc requests. We are constantly improving our delivery and tools, and you will be confident working in a team, exploring ideas and innovative solutions and then driving them quickly into production.
Essential Responsibilities
• Build automation solutions that will support, enhance and grow our build and deployment systems
• Assist developers by improving productivity through integration and automation
• Listen to, prioritize, and document requests and issues, ensuring resolution and follow-up.
• Participate in the team workflow to drive innovation and improvements in our core automation framework
• Evaluate solutions for implement and scale CI/CD service offerings
• Improve our knowledge base and provide thought leadership in development automation and continuous integration
• Work in an Agile environment where work is delivered using Scrum.
• Work effectively in team, able to led small groups and to be led by others.
• Effective communicator who can help developers t get the most from build and development tools.
• Innovator with a passion for automation and software tools and development.
Desired profile
Qualifications/Requirements
• Knowledge of development tools development using Java, Python, Ruby, Go or other language of choice
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc
• Familiarity with Linux and performance optimization and building scalable solutions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who is motivated to learn and is at ease working as part of a team of highly talented professionals
• Expertise with any of the following: Docker, Cloud Foundry, Mesos, AWS, Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Electric Cloud, etc.
• Flexibility and willingness to work outside the DevOps arena in technical software delivery
